New Steel Footbridge in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Denton-Powell was pleased to be asked to install a new steel footbridge in the heart of the ancient cathedral city of Salisbury.
The project included the demolition and removal of an old and unsafe walkway in addition to the design, manufacture and installation of a new bridge to span the River Avon.
It was a complex job due to the tricky location and also having to work over water - but, with a comprehensive set of RAMS and several site visits to assess the access and feasibility, a safe plan of action was agreed to complete the job.
We fabricated, galvanised and powder coated the metalwork to Marine-Grade Specification, and used a crane to lift the new footbridge into position.
The walkway flooring was made of composite HD planking to meet specifications and for its resistance to corrosion from the elements.
